Portrait Session FAQ’s

What is included in the Portrait Packages?

We take pride in our creative photo sessions, and the packages to go right along with them! Sessions include a location of your choice (we will plan this together- don’t you worry) as well as options for up to 2 outfit changes (together we will discuss what color palette would be best for the location you have chosen, the season, and even supply with sample outfit options), hours of photography and also professionally printed artwork for your walls, albums for your coffee table, and gifts! All packages include professional photography, editing and printed fine art imagery. Packages include an online gallery of digital images, able to be shared with friends and family.

Why do you include Printed artwork in all packages?

In a world that’s primarily digital, we still like to keep things old school by including professionally printed artwork in all packages! Although everyone shares things digitally, we all still love decorating our walls with memories of our families, pets and friends. This is possible by way of wall art and album design! We love to have our photos to share, but what about pass down to your kids? Albums are a great way to pass down the memories of our lives! Artwork is one of the most important parts of our packages (besides the photos themselves!) haha.

What’s the best thing to wear?

We hear this question over and over! It’s honestly a great one. So let’s break it down: no, you don’t all need to wear white shirts and blue jeans. Rather, choose a color palette to follow, ie: blue, grey, white and a color for pop. Also think about the location, where you will hang your photos? What colors do you decorate with? What colors make you feel good? You don’t need to match everyone, different shades, different styles, let everyone’s personality show in the picture! They always say, if you like what you wear, you look & feel better! Go as classic as you can, keeping your clothing options simple gives your photos a timeless touch. If you’re questioning adding layers or accessories, question no longer, these things add a little pop and texture to your outfits and photograph very well! If you have questions about what would look good together— don’t worry anymore! We love to help you put together your ideas, including your outfits! Before yourvsession we will chat about location, season and what will be best for your color palette, and even go over styling options!

Locations are chosen by ideas of what you would like as a backdrop. Most people decide on their location based on a place they love to be at, or that holds a specific significance in their lives. Often they have an idea of a place, but don’t have a specific location. Together we work to find the perfect spot! A certain selection of our sessions are photographed in your home. This creates a the most comfy location, especially for maternity, newborn, and small family sessions! We do currently have a shared studio space until October. After that we will update for the Holiday Season! We do have a strong understanding of light, as well as the ability to bring studio lighting to your home, or location of your choosing. Our style of photography reflects less of a studio aesthetic, and more of a lifestyle portraiture and documentary style.

What locations do you use for portrait sessions?

Do you have a studio?

Of course! We absolutely love animals! We have experience working with domestic and farm animals! Every August we host an event for the month called DOGGUST. These sessions consist of mini dog-portrait sessions. These are my absolute favorite! I love being able to create beautiful photos of your fur-babies. Want to include animals in your family, senior, engagement, wedding, maternity or newborn session— let’s do it!

Do you work with animals?

All day, everyday!! I like to take photos at anytime, at any place. With a knowledge of light, and being able to use the sun to my advantage, I have learned that anytime is the perfect time for photos! BUT, my favorite timeframe is what they call “golden hour”! Golden Hour is the the last hour or so before sunset; the light is absolutely gorgeous, no harsh shadows, the colors are dreamy and I love catching the sunset in my photos.
